SYNOPSIS
Denis “Angry Ant” Giakoumelos is a boxer. He’s 56 years old and his hips are shot, but he’s determined not to hang up his gloves without one last fight. As he prepares to take on a younger, stronger opponent, it’s revealed he’s facing a far tougher challenge than what waits for him in the ring.
The Last Fight is a brutally honest micro-documentary about martial arts, mental illness, and the toughest opponent of all: ourselves.
AWARDS
The Last Fight was awarded Best Documentary Screenplay at Tropfest and Officially Selected for the St. Kilda Film Festival (an Academy Awards® qualifying event). It was also shortlisted for the Stellar Short Film Festival, and nominated for an Endorphin Award in the UK.
